OCTOBER WELCOMES YOU!

I remember in 1st grade we had this thing in Computer Class (fucking up Carmen San Diego on them Commodores) called "October is Computer Learning Month." Kind of ironic in retrospect being that every hour these days is computer learning time. Any fucking way what the hell am I even writing about again?! Right. So they had a poster contest for it. I was all into art and shit at a early age (explains all my emotional issues presently) so obviously I killed that contest. The cool part was I wasn't even trying to win that bitch.

In case you didn't believe me: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/computer-learning-foundation-announces-14th-annual-computer-learning-monthr-in-october-73020012.html

So I pretty much drew a computer monitor in pencil, outlined it with those ghetto pilot ink pens (Pilot used to the shit btw before Bic got all Jay-Z on us) with a keyboard drawn in perspective (next level shit I tell ya), and on the monitor were the words "October is Computer Learning Month" inside a batman sign. Damn right that's pretty much all I drew. Batman signs. Shit. Killed it I tell you. Wish I had a picture to show you. I won some kind of pennant and a certificate. Swear to god life was so easy cuz winning that kind of shit went a long way. Adults aren't happy with shit these days that don't end with vagina or dollar signs. I digress again. I wonder if I actually threw the poster away. Hopefully it's rolled up somewhere back in NYC. And yea, this post really has nothing to do with computers.

HAPPY CRAPPY OCTOBER you fucking dip shits! Who gives a fuck about Octoberfest & beer when I went ahead and did a store-wide markdown on almost every single damn item. CREEP STREET SALE?! Enjoy it.

TODAY'S SPECIAL!

Irony, fast food, photography, a touch of OCD & a beautiful color story = the work of Julia Ziegler-Haynes. Her latest photography project gives my creative dick a boner. OHWOW is pleased to announce the publication of Today's Special by the Brooklyn-based artist and chef Julia Ziegler-Haynes. her book illustrates the final meals or "special meals,” requested by 24 death row inmates on the eve of their execution. Her intention in creating this work is to examine the human condition through the contrast of capital punishment and the forgiving gesture of granting one last request.

Enjoy.

Fascinated with the subject of the last meal, Ziegler-Haynes undertook extensive and emotionally exhaustive research through the public records of death row inmates. She then selected meals and painstakingly recreated each, arranging or cooking items exactly to the recorded likings and specifications of each prisoner. A brief detailing of the inmate's crime and penalty appears toward the end of the book, beside a thumbnail of its corresponding image.

"Essentially, these prisoners had become guests in my home. And so, despite having been immersed in the hideous details of each crime, I repeatedly found myself feeling empathetic towards them. Especially those whose requests were so meager," states Ziegler-Haynes. For example, one photograph depicts a black unpitted olive, another, a single cup of coffee.

FREAKY FRIDAY THE 13th!

Well, first & foremost – Happy Fucking Friday the 13th boys & ghouls!!

Second but almost more importantly...today is the day we officially launch our first FARTIST PROJECT™ Collaboration! So what exactly is the Fartist Project™ you ask? It's what it fucking sounds like – Creep Street x Rad Artists working on exclusive projects just for you!

I'm really psyched to start the very first Volume of this special project with someone who is actually a good friend of mine: John Wiltshire. I met John a few years back when I was living in Boston. Not too sure how we became friends, but I think he had a crush on one of my chick homies & I of course promised I'd get him laid. It didn't end up happening cause I sucked at life, but because he was so happy I made the valiant effort he offered to unofficially intern for Creep Street as a token of his appreciation! I mean seriously how horrible is it to follow me around for Lookbooks while I take pics of the hottest chicks in their underwear right?! Tough living, I know.

The most interesting part of John isn't just his tattoos, or his teenrape-looking thick framed Ray Bans. It was the pleasant discovery of finding out John was a long time illustrator & painter. Like, a really awesome unpretentious one! Mixing creepy influences of horror as a major theme, his sly twists create something truly unique. Youthful but sophisticated, dark but humorous, poetic but dangerous. All in all, the Children of the Black Rainbow series of his latest work is exactly what it claims to be: pure, dark, genius.

Remember those Creeped Out! tees we did a while back? When John showed me the initial sketches for these tees you can bet I got even more excited! If you do happen to be in Boston tonight – there is a pretty crazy weekend planned for all you freaks!

I've lurked some other peeps that covered the weekend as well. Most notedbly Rony & Mr. Last Nights Party himself. Kinda trippy looking back thinking you're standing right next to the person you have no idea is & blogging the same shit. Bumping into the Arab Parrot was some funny shit too. The world is actually one big refection of the internet these days. Ugh makes me sick! LOL. Reminds of the time I shook hands with a serial killer, but I'll save that story for another time.

Someone get me a zip & a double cup por favor...MURDER MONDAYS!!
